Vicki Aubin

A native of Oxford, Massachusetts, Vicki began her study of tap, jazz, ballet and drums/percussion at the age of 7. Moving to New York City after college, Vicki continued her training, to include Dunham technique (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre), Jazz-Funk and Hip-Hop (Broadway Dance Center), and Irish Step with champion dancer Mary Beth Griffith (Steps on Broadway). Vicki’s rapid proficiency in Irish Step won her a role in the 1999 Off-Broadway musical Finnegan’s Farewell.

In 2004, sheer curiosity from a magazine ad led Vicki to a Bollywood dance class, where as she puts it, it was “love at first sight”.  Immersing herself into popular Indian dance, music and culture over the next several years, Vicki performed regularly with a local Bollywood dance troupe on Masala Cruises, at Six Flags, and in films Karma Confessions & Holi and Hastey Hastey.

Since joining Bollywood Funk NYC in the summer of 2007, Vicki has danced in films, music videos, and on television, working with actress Pooja Kumar (Bollywood Hero), ‘Tabla Girl’ Tina Sugandh, MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, The Fred Astaire Awards, TV Asia, and CNN IBN India. In addition, Vicki has acted in several Bollywood blockbuster films including Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Kurbaan, and Badmaash Company (her first Bollywood speaking role). Currently a Bollywood Funk NYC Instructor and Senior Dance Company Member, Vicki is thrilled to be a part of bringing the diverse culture of contemporary Bollywood to a global audience, proudly stating “Mera dil Hindustani hai”.
