Had a BLAST last night at "Bollywood Wedding" at Nuyorican Poets Cafe in the east village. Wish it was playing longer, or I'd have recruited a bunch of friends and gone to see it again. Two of my fellow Bollywood Funk NYC Dance Company members Aki and Kalyani dancing it it, and I was curious.  I went not knowing what to expect, and walked out LOVING it. Imagine 'Tony & Tina's Wedding', but Bollywood style, and you have "Bollywood Wedding", and then some.  Think Cultural stereotypes, cliches, mayhem and masti!  This interactive show/play "Where everyone's a star", as their promotional ads say, was absolutely true to its name. The characters interacted with us regularly and several times I got beckoned up on stage spontanteously to dance with them and party (there was much partying).  What a fun, young, talented cast, too; each character had his or her own individually defined indiosyncracies added another unique 'flavor' to the melting pot...ahem, I mean 'chaat', ha.  I laughed a LOT, and I was sad when it was over. Oh and the dancing gals ROCKED, great job, ladies! I really hope they extend this show, or bring it back again soon. MOBAREK (congrats) to Zeshan Bhatti and the entire cast and crew for creating something very unique and special :)
